Our Civil Defence Group(Gruppo volontari protezione civile “Città di Foligno) is a Voluntary organisation. It is open to persons between the ages of 18 and …over.The Group was set up in 1995 and was intended to assist the general public in emergency situations by assisting the affected communities.The real strength of the Civil Defence organisation is the fact that the members give their sparetime, and experience in a voluntary manner.Our members are trained in various skills such as first aid, rescue, basic fire fighting, emergency feeding, evacuee care, radio communications and monitoring two semiprofessional seismic stations. Other skills taught are map reading, compass work, response to flooding, environmental problems, blizzard conditions and other major emergencies. To supplement and enhance training we offer various courses leading to certification, we also arange competitions between other Local Authorities. In addition Civil Defence provides support to many community events such as Moto Rallies, Road Races, Sports Meetings, Cycling Events etc.
